Second Bankruptcy for Electric Vehicle Company
Struggles Continue for EV Makers
LOS ANGELES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fisker Inc., an electric vehicle (EV) company founded by Henrik Fisker, has filed for bankruptcy. This marks the second bankruptcy for an EV company founded by Fisker, who also founded Fisker Automotive, which filed for bankruptcy in 2013.
The bankruptcy filing comes after Fisker failed to line up financing from strategic partners. Fisker has been struggling to raise funds and has had difficulty ramping up production of its Ocean electric SUV.
The bankruptcy filing is the latest sign of struggles among EV makers. Several EV companies have filed for bankruptcy in recent years, including Faraday Future and Aptera Motors.
