Arsenal come from behind to beat Bournemouth in dramatic fashion

Reiss Nelson's 97th-minute winner secures crucial victory for Gunners

Mikel Arteta's side extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points

Arsenal recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat Bournemouth 3-2 in a dramatic Premier League encounter on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners fell behind to early goals from Marcus Tavernier and Kieffer Moore, but goals from Thomas Partey and Ben White drew them level before Reiss Nelson's late winner secured all three points for Mikel Arteta's side.

Bournemouth started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead after just five minutes when Tavernier fired home from the edge of the area.

The Cherries doubled their lead in the 11th minute when Moore headed home a corner from Ryan Fredericks.

Arsenal pulled a goal back in the 17th minute when Partey fired home a low drive from outside the area.

The Gunners continued to press for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 62nd minute when White headed home a Bukayo Saka cross.

With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Nelson popped up in the 97th minute to fire home the winner and give Arsenal a vital three points.

The victory extends Arsenal's lead at the top of the Premier League to five points and keeps them in pole position to win their first title since 2004.
